Education and Training - Your Way
As a trusted charitable organization founded in 1995 , we provide assistance to the people who need it the most in the Tallaght area.
Our vision is for universal acceptance that people with mental health difficulties are equal citizens, and should not be defined or limited by their mental health difficulties. They have the right to make their own choices, to work, to reach their full potential and to live meaningful and contributing lives insofar as they can.
Threshold Training Network name originates in the premise that when people cross our ‘threshold’ they are looking to reach beyond themselves to engage with a supportive community that will encourage their wellbeing recovery. Good mental health is a dynamic process, specific to each person. We offer vocational training and wellbeing workshops to empower people to take responsibility for their mental health. We see our services as a network of supports that can nurture a sense of hope for the person for their future.
Our values mirror those that underpin personal mental health recovery: hope, personal responsibility, support, self-awareness and self-advocacy. We foster these values and put them into practice, in all our services and activities.
Our education programmes are also known as ROUTE24. This is so that students are reminded daily of our values through the acronym ROUTE 24-standing for Resilience, Opportunity and Understanding in Training and Education. 24 refers to our geographical location in Dublin 24 and the reminder that our mental health is with us 24/7.
Our hope is that when students complete the education programme, they will have succeeded in nurturing their mental health recovery as well as gaining a certification on the National Framework of Qualifications.
